A small project born in the first lockdown, Rat Hat delivers a resolutely optimistic colourful fashion by handling the art of crochet to perfection. Rat Hat is above all a family story, and a responsible project: at its creation is Alice Sofia Navarin supported by her mother Emanuela, on the commercial side, Viola, Alice's sister and for logistics, her father, Lodino. Through a multitude of color combinations, the designer brings unused yarns or old woolen jumpers, that would otherwise have been thrown away, back to life.” Like Vogue Paris said.
Now the project and the team is getting bigger and we are experimenting new textures, shapes and techniques. Sweaters, socks, gloves, are being developed too.
Every piece is both idiosyncratic and captivating, with the designs fluctuating based on what the family is feeling through different materials like mohair, alpaca, chenille, lurex , hemp, banana leaf yarn.
